THE ARTIST

Nicola Hackl-Haslinger is an Austrian artist whose dual expertise in photography and goldsmithing forms the foundation of her distinctive practice. Bringing photographic image-making into dialogue with the material precision of goldsmithing, she extends photography beyond the conventional print, exploring surface, object, and materiality.

Her work explores nature, perception, memory, and the passage of time, with a particular sensitivity to the relationship between the visible world and inner experience, and to humanity’s connection with the natural world..

Her work is represented in public and private collections in Austria and internationally. In 2023, she published her first monograph, Beyond Time. In 2024, she was selected as a Photolucida Critical Mass Top 200 Finalist and received the Maine Media Scholarship Award.
